What a fun shoot & a pleasure getting to know these two. We decided on an outdoor location, with a lot of green space for this engagement session. Seeing how their wedding day will be near the Aylmer Marina, at the Aydelu, the couple was looking for a different look for their engagement photos. It’s always a great idea, to look for a different location for your engagement shoot & a different season than your wedding. This way, you have a different look to your engagement shoot, in comparison to your wedding surroundings. With the Arboretum being filled with several types of trees, open space & bridges, it made for a great spot. As well, Fletcher Wildlife Gardens was our meeting spot & we used those surrounds too.
Rox & Brian, brought along their adorable dog Queen. Queen previously belonged to a friend of theirs, who could no longer care for her. Rox & Brian didn’t want to see her go to a strangers home, so they adopted her & are now “Fur Baby Parents” to this sweet girl. I love when couples bring along their pets, this way I can squeeze them too-lol As well, it makes for sweet photos & seeing how our pets are a huge part of our lives, it makes sense for them to be in some of the photographs. I strongly encourage you to bring along a friend or a family member to your sessions, to care for your pet, while they are not in a photograph. This way, the animal isn’t tied to a tree or waiting in a car between photos. Our pets are cute, but they can be a distraction, if you’re worried about them, while your being photographed. I will often start with the pets take a few photos, give them a break & just focus on the couple. It’s important to give them a break, it’s not easy being a model 🙂
Other Tips & Tricks, to bringing pets to a shoot…..
A huge CONGRATULATIONS to this sweet couple, I’m looking forward to your August wedding date. I have no doubt, your wedding day will be filled with lots of love & laughter.
